Greetings from the PTA Hello Lakeview Families! The Lakeview Elementary School PTA knows that strong partnerships among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. That's why we are participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program, which grows partnerships between the PTA and Lakeview community to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students. Our next step is to select individuals to serve on our Excellence Team which will focus on the 6 Standards (see below).
If you would like to serve on our Excellence Team, please review the National PTA School of Excellence website and submit an email expressing your interest to lakeviewbobcatspta@gmail.com by November 9th. All applicants should plan to join us for more information on Monday, November 12th at 11:30 a.m. in the Lakeview Library. Results from the survey will be evaluated and a shared objective will be selected. Warm Regards, Ann DeCapite Bobcat Dash Bobcat Dash Week: We have an exciting week planned for our Dedicated Amazing Super Heroes during Bobcat Dash that will conclude on Friday, November 9th with the Bobcat Dash Superhero Challenge Course during your child’s specials period. Be sure to come out and support your child as they take on this challenge! We would love parent volunteers to support us on Dash Day - Click here for volunteer opportunities.  How can you help fundraise? 1.) Raise monetary donations for Lakeview PTA by asking family and friends for their support. Donations are accepted online here or checks can be sent into your child’s classroom. 2.) Participate in our Online Silent Auction - Click here - Auction goes live at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd and ends at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 9th 3.) Join us at our Kendra Scott Gives Back to Lakeview Night on November 8th between 6-8 p.m. where a portion of sales will benefit the Bobcat Dash fundraising efforts. Click here for Kendra Scott flyer.

In order for your child's artwork to be judged, all art entries must be submitted with an entry form (one per submission) and must be entirely filled out. Please find the entry form here in case you’re missing it. The other requirement for the Art Reflections is that one or both of the parents must be a registered PTA member before October 31st. SHAC ~ Student Health Thanks to all who participated in the The 21 Day Challenge! Surveys are due Nov. 5th! Bobcat Run Club is off to a great start! We had 375 students and parents sign up! Run club will meet each Tuesday and Thursday through December 6th. Please help us win the Reindeer Romp for the 6th year in a row by registering at http://www.nisdreindeerromp.com/. Remember Bobcat Run Club members are already registered, but we need everyone else to join us so we can keep the Reindeer Romp Trophy at Lakeview and raise money for PE Department! Volunteer Spotlights Congratulations to Arzu Toyoglu and Laura Thompson for being our Lakeview Volunteers of the Month! We REALLY appreciate all of your hard work! Arzu did a great job coordinating our PTA Reflections Program that included Art Night last month! Laura, has put in countless volunteer hours for our teachers and kiddos over the years at Lakeview, from serving on the PTA Board to being a dedicated Room Mom and valued workroom volunteer. Thank you so much ladies for your dedication to Lakeview! Get to know more about our Volunteers! Arzu Toyoglu  Kids Names/Grades: Duru- 4th grade and Atakan- UTD (ITS) Hobbies/ Interests: I like arts/crafts, cooking, reading. I also part time coach at my daughter's synchronized swimming team (NTS). Hometown: We're originally from Turkey. We came from Ankara,Turkey 3 years ago. Fun fact: I'm a pharmacist back in Turkey. I love being active and helping people. That's why I love volunteering in our school and I feel like we have a big family here.
Kids Names/Grades: Max, Jagger & Stone all in 5th grade Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with family and friends, working out and traveling. Hometown: I am from San Antonio, TX. Smartphone: Install the Herff Jones eShare app for Android or iPhone to upload pictures directly from your smartphone. School code: Lakeview Uploading tips: *If you take a series, or burst, of photos, please pick the BEST of the series and upload that one photo. *Double-check to make sure not to add blurry, out of focus, or under- or overexposed pictures. *Label each picture with the event, grade and student name(s). *Upload pictures of groups of students…3-5 is ideal. *The more submissions, the more possibilities you have to see your child’s face in the yearbook at the end of the year! Names will be drawn at the end of each 6 week grading period from the collection container. Put up to 50 Box Tops in a bag with your child’s and teacher’s name on it. Please make sure your Boxtops are not expired and edges are trimmed. If you have more than 50, then create another bag for more chances to win. Our next 2 drawings for Box Tops winners will be on Friday, November 2nd and Wednesday, December 19th. Prizes for the winners will include gift cards to Chick-fil-A, Yumilicious, 32 Below, and Cinemark. Do you shop at Tom Thumb? Be sure to register for the Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program. Thank you very much for participating in the PTA Art Reflections Program! All artwork should be submitted no later than Friday, November 2nd!
The PTA will host a Holiday Gift Shop for students the week of December 10th - 14th during school hours and the evening of December 11th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This unique seasonal Gift Shop, under the supervision of parent volunteers, is an unforgettable event for the kids to enjoy as your child will have the chance to hand pick chosen gifts as a surprise for friends and/or family members. Your child may choose from approximately 250 different gift items ranging in price from $0.35 to $15.00. More information will be sent home with your child closer to the holidays!
