Hello Lakeview Families,

Hope everyone’s first two weeks went smoothly! My three came home energized and excited to tell me about elephant toothpaste, pregnant teachers (congrats, Mrs. Hornisher!), and gummy bears growing in water. We are happy to be back to our daily Lakeview routine and looking forward to what’s to come this fall.

This newsletter is chock full of information about those upcoming fall events: programs, fundraisers, spirit wear sales, our fantastic yearbook and more. A few highlights:

We cannot wait to celebrate the school year this Friday at our second annual Bobcat Family Fun Night, from 6:30-8:30 at Lakeview Elementary. There will be inflatables, lawn games, food trucks and an epic color launch at the end of the night. Everyone in our Lakeview community is invited (current, former and future Lakeview Bobcats and their families, distant learners…), so bring a picnic blanket, wear a white shirt, and come out to help us celebrate Lakeview!

We hope to see lots of you at our first general membership meeting on September 14th at 6:30 pm. The meeting will take place outside in the back of the school. See flyer for details below. You’ll have the chance to learn more about getting involved with the PTA and have time to chat with Lakeview’s administrative staff: Mrs. Oster, Mr. Flank and Ms. Sanderson. Also: snacks!

We have big plans for this year (I’ve already got a sitter arranged for our adult social in February), and we’re working hard to balance having fun while being safe. I hope to see you at an upcoming PTA event soon.

Spirit Wear - Second Round - Closes 9/12

We have our second round of Spirit Wear open if you missed the first order period. We will close sales on Sunday, September 12th. This year the PTA was able to sponsor our class grade level shirts. Please click here to complete form with your child's size and name for delivery. We have extended our deadline for Grade Level shirts to be the same deadline for Spirit Wear. All spirit wear and grade level shirts will be delivered end of September.

A huge THANK YOU to our COMMUNITY PARTNERS that made an early commitment to the Lakeview PTA for the 2021-22 school year. We are thrilled to partner with them for Bobcat Family Fun Night, Bobcat Dash and our Spring Auction and Fundraiser. The Lakeview PTA still needs sponsorships to continue reaching our goals of enriching the education of our students and supporting Lakeview teachers and staff!

Bobcat Run Club

Who: Lakeview Students and their Families

What: 20 minutes of morning running with friends and family

Where: Soccer Fields

When:
Tuesday and Thursday from 7:10 – 7:30 am

Beginning September 14^th through December 9^th

Reindeer Romp December 11^th

Resuming March 24^th through May 5^th

Why: Physically active kids have more active brains!
Research shows that after 20 minutes of physical activity,

students tested better in reading, spelling, and math!

Parents:

Additional Bobcat Run Club T-shirts may be purchased for $10.

As a member of the Bobcat Run Club, you will automatically be registered for the Reindeer Romp. Your Reindeer Romp Registration includes a $5 “return” donation to the Lakeview PE Department.
