Student Health Advisory Committee

The Lakeview SHAC (Student Health Advisory Committee) is working hard behind the scenes to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students.  We are part of a district-wide SHAC that works with the Board of Trustees and superintendent to establish guidelines in many important areas of wellness. SHACs provide advice to the district on coordinated school health programming and its impact on student health and learning.

Our Lakeview PTA SHAC Committee supports the following activities:

Bobcat Run Club

The Bobcat Run Club is for Lakeview students and their families to enjoy 20 minutes of a morning running routine together.  Research shows that after 20 minutes of physical activity, students tested better in reading, spelling and math! Physically active kids have more active brains!  Run Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:10 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. beginning September 11th through December 6th on the Soccer Fields or in the Lakeview Gym pending weather.  We take a break during the winter months and meet resume our Run Club March 19th through May 9th.

Reindeer Romp

Thank you for participating in the Northwest ISD Council of PTA's 11th Annual Reindeer Romp on Saturday, December 8th! We loved seeing all our smiling Lakeview faces this year during the 1 mile fun run and 5K!  Stay tuned next year's Reindeer Romp!  To date, you have raised more than $80,000 for NISD PE Departments through your participation in the NISD Reindeer Romp!
