Student Health Advisory Committee

The Lakeview SHAC (Student Health Advisory Committee) is working hard behind the scenes to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students. We are part of a district-wide SHAC that works with the Board of Trustees and superintendent to establish guidelines in many important areas of wellness. SHACs provide advice to the district on coordinated school health programming and its impact on student health and learning.

Our Lakeview PTA SHAC Committee supports the following activities:

Bobcat Run Club

The Bobcat Run Club is for Lakeview students and their families to enjoy 20 minutes of a morning running routine together. Research shows that after 20 minutes of physical activity, students tested better in reading, spelling and math! Physically active kids have more active brains! Run Club meets on Wednesdays from 7:10 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. beginning September 10th on the basketball court. Run Club registration for students is $30 and includes a shirt and registration into Reindeer Romp. Run Club registration for parents is $20 and includes registration into Reindeer Romp (a shirt can be purchased separately).

Reindeer Romp

The Northwest ISD Council of PTA's Annual Reindeer Romp is on Saturday, December 13th! We love seeing all our smiling Lakeview faces during the 1 mile fun run and 5K! Stay tuned for more information!

National Walk/Bike to School Day

Join the movement that inspires the entire community to come together and promote health and safer routes for students to walk and bike to school. National Walk & Roll to School Day will be held on October 8, 2025 and May 6, 2026.

kids heart challenge

Our students kick off our annual Kids Heart Challenge in February, for the American Heart Association (previously known as Jump Rope for Heart)! The #KidsHeartChallenge prepares your child for success through physical activity and volunteerism. We encourage you to get involved by fundraising for the American Heart Association!

fitness gram testing

Coach Nix will conduct Fitness Testing for 3rd - 5th Grade. More information to come!

We will celebrate all our fitness levels during our Annual Lakeview Field Day at the end of the school year. Details will be sent out in the spring!
